RB Leipzig, a Bundesliga team, made an announcement on Friday stating that Openda has officially signed a contract until 2028. According to Bild's report, Leipzig initially paid €43 million for the transfer, with the potential for an additional €6 million in performance-based add-ons. With this deal, Openda becomes Leipzig's most expensive signing in their history, while also marking the highest transfer fee ever received by RC Lens, his former club in France. Additionally, Openda's previous team, Brugge, will receive a 12.5% share amounting to €4 million from the overall transfer fee.
